Christmas Road Trip with BFF Part 2

Denver was perfect on this Christmas eve, it had snowed the week before we drove thru so everything was Christmasy white but the roads were clear! First order of business was to go straight to our next Diner Drive Ins and Dives location which was Steuben's and it was worth the drive!

Don and I shared some fierce chicken and waffles. We also wanted our own dish as well but we had to order this as our appetizer.

He had a sandwich I couldn't pronounce and I had the lobster roll that was featured on the show. I would really recommend this place for lunch. The people were great and as luck would have it there were a lot of cute servers!

Christmas Day Don was driving I was the co-pilot. I do love the iPad for picture taking on the dash! The goal was to drive from Denver to Omaha we stopped at Starbucks and were on our way. It was a great drive not many cars on the road and a beautiful sunny day.

All I am going to say about Nebraska is brown and flat! Oh and it smells like cow poop. The tallest things in Nebraska are the on and off ramps. Not a gay bar in sight for miles.

When I was driving Don was in charge of the navigation easy said than done. It is all about the blue dot on the blue line! We decided nothing would be open in Omaha so we drove straight thru to De Witt Iowa my home town.

Christmas Day the only thing we found open was a Kum and Go (for real) gas station and I broke down and had the best wiener I have ever had. Don thought this would be a good blog photo titled

The best wiener I ever had was at the Kum and Go

We finally got to my mom's house at 10pm some family was still there so we opened some gifts and checked in to the Super 8 which we re-named the Satan 8.

It was great seeing all the family and catching up with everyone. My mom Sally wanted a haircut so she was the first cut I did

She loves getting her hair cut by me why? because I never get water in her ears! Not because I am good:) My nephew Phillip wanted a Beckham cut so I cut it and my nieces Ashley and Jessica styled him and took this pic of him giving us his best Zoolander

Christmas Road Trip with BFF

December 22nd my best friend Don Wismer

and I started off on our Christmas Road Trip from LA to Iowa! The Stow and Go mini van was packed with gifts for my family.

First stop was Vegas we stayed at the Blue Moon Hotel which is a fabulous gay hotel. I think we were 2 of the 7 people staying there. The mission of this trip is to do some bff bonding and transport gifts and above and beyond is to hit as many 3 Ds as possible Diners Drive Ins and Dives. In Vegas we went to Hash House a Go GO. Featured on the food network for their unique breakfast items. I have decide to give in and eat like a normal person just for this trip! I had the Andy's Sage Fried Chicken Benedict. It was insane I could only eat about a 1/3 of it!

So when you go to Vegas you HAVE to go to this place for breakfast you will not be sorry!!

After I Don finished his Meatloaf Hash we headed out of town our next hotel is in Grand Junction CO. The weather today was perfect no rain or snow at all. The northern route is notorious for bad weather but not this trip.
Utah has to be one of my favorite states

Everything is covered with Snow and looks amazing

The big hard rocks really had us in awww!

One of our favorite tops was this Gas Station in Joseph Utah. I have never been to a station like this

just a couple of pumps in the middle of a gravel lot.

Tomorrow we are off to Denver for a Spa day mani/pedis and some massages.

Merry Christmas

Christmas week in London

I decided I would start blogging and put a list together for different events I do at my house as well as with all the traveling I do I see things and get ideas so here goes my first blog entry! be gentle!

Just finished doing my QVC UK shows and am taking this day to explore the city. My mission today is retail windows! I know completely gay but they have the most amazing window displays at Harrod's!! Oh and I have to get Christmas lights when the sun goes down. The weather is a bit overcast but that is basically the forecast everyday.
This is on Oxford Street LOVE the lights and the attention to detail. I reminded me of a Paul Smith design.

Next up was Boots this is where you can purchase the InStyler in the UK and this is the store I had my personal appearance at this past September. These lights were insane. it was like a sheet of lights covering the entire store.
Harrod's is amazing during the holiday all of the windows on the front of the building are ice themed with cobalt blue lights and a ton of Styrofoam cut into drifts and different objects. Each window is framed with thick greenery and the best dancing twinkle lights ever.
I was drawn to the ram style of this hair I stared at if for a long time trying to figure out what the materiel it was made out of. So strange because it looked like foam but there was real hair on it as well.

I was walking back to my hotel thru Slone Square and saw this archway of lights I had to take pictures because I would love to find a way to replicate this in my driveway not just for the holiday but to have all year round. Trust me it looked beyond gay in person:)
